Refugee Camp...

Oh my dogness...it been forever since I've been able tell you what's happening here....& let me tell you...I COULD WRITE A BOOK!

My peoples returned from It-A-Lee last weekend....we have a day & a half of fun...& then suddenly my suitcase was being packed AGAIN & they were packing too...& taking lots of other stuff they normally don't pack in a suitcase...like papers & pictures & even Dublin who now fits very neatly into a suitcase!

I could tell something was very wrong...my peoples hurrying around the house & huddling by the tv & radio & calling on their mini phones....then on Monday they sky was green/grey & the smell in the air was absolutely horrendous....If you have a tv & have watched it in the last 72 hours, you know that I was now part of the largest peacetime evacuation in history since the Civil War! Guess I can add that to my resume if I decide to get a job....makes me a bit seasoned & experienced I think...

Thankfully we are now back at home since yesterday afternoon...but now some of my peoples friends were evacuated early early early this morning & guess what...my home is now the Randi Refugee Camp! Here are the first refugees ever at the R.R.C.

Clockwise from the top: Hercules - a yellow lab/golden retreiver mix, Jenny, (my mom thinks) a lab/great pyrenes mix, Chris, a chocoate lab/bloodhound mix (again, my mom's evaluations) & Zeus, a german short-haired pointer.

Herkie (as I like to call him) & Zeus are old friends - Dublin & I used to stay with them when my peoples would go away for a while....& Jenny & Chris are new friends..they just rescued their peoples along with Herkie & Zeus about a year & a half ago....

We are all getting to know eachother & they are all fun...my mom says I have to learn not to be so bossy & bitchy...that the R.R.C. needs to be a place of understanding & unconditional love & compassion... blah blah blah......

We've been having fun & making lots of muddy areas on the lawn.... More to come!

Love & Licks,
Randi
CEO of the R.R.C.

Welcome back Randi - though I wish your homecoming wasn't so stressful.

You and your humans are so awesome for setting up the RRC - we can't believe how well behaved everyone looks!

PS Hoping you all stay safe.

Gosh Randi, that's pretty scary that you had to grab stuff and leave. I really hope they can get things under control there and no-one else loses their houses.

Great work on the RRC though, looks like you've got some very contended guests.

Oh, glad you are back Randi! Oh no, what's going on over there? Is it the same thing that's happening at Maggie #2's country. The people there are evacuating too. Oh I like that pic of all you guys sleeping in a circle. I hope you all are ok. Stay safe ok?

Randi! I'm so glad you're back. I really missed you. I'm sorry to hear you had to evacuate, but it's great that you are back again and able to take care of all those other beasties. I'm be a bit bitchy and bossy about it too, but you know, we have to be. We are old girls, Randi. It's our job to keep everydog in line. I love how you are keeping them all on their beds. I hope none of them lost their houses. That would be super sad.

Randay! I was a little worried about you. I also didn't know when your peeps would be coming back from It's a Lee. So I was worried about what would happen if you were there and they weren't! I was going to come evacuate you myself but apparently you can't rent a helicopter without a license. And opposable thumbs.

Glad you're doing ok! We missed you!

PS. HI RANDI! -ETHEL!

Oh geez, Randi, I didn't realize you had to be evacuated. I'm so glad you are safe and have a home that now serves as the RRC. I missed you, girl!

Did you know that my uncle is a german short-haired pointer? His coloring is really similar to Zeus' coloring. All the humans say that he is soooooo bee-oo-tee-ful. Whatevs (obviously I'm a little jelly)! He's a rescue too, like your other friends.
