Say Hello to My Little Friend

Let me introduce Winston - my cousin...well, I guess he's not really my cousin - but he's my dad's brother's dog & they live nearby...so Winston comes over to play alot...& sometimes even spends the night. We all think he is a cross between Whippit, Border Collie & maybe Lab...but don't get me wrong - he is 100% pest!~ He'll be two in October, weighs about 40 pounds & can run like the wind. I try to chase him & nip at his heals, but I never get that close. He's a pretty good dog & knows that I am the boss...or so I tell him every chance I get.

I have a love/hate relationship with Winston. I love that he listens to me & that he knows I'm supposed to go in & out of rooms first & that I get served treats first & first that I get dibs at bones...I don't like to admit the fact that he is awfully cute & loves to cuddle as well - so I guess he can't be all that bad. He does keep me company & lets me chase him so I can get some much needed interval cardio training in the backyard.

In the pictures above, you see Dublin in the middle, me on the right & Winston as a little pip-squeek puppy on the left - I think he was only about 3 months old in that picture. You can see he has the same markings...white paws & a white chest. (Do you see the markings/indentations of a white cross on Dublin's chest? I think he was specially blessed & chosen & that's why he went to the Bridge earlier than we all wanted him to...) Winston looks like he could be related...even if he was, I'd disown him anyway.... The pic where I'm laying on his legs was an absolute set up...I think he was afraid to move - do you see the terror in he eyes? He knows that he is under my complete supervision!
All in all, he's a good little doggie...just never tell him I said that, OK!

Love & Licks,
Randi

Hi Randi,

This is a very swell blog, I'll tell you what. Does your guardian help much or do you do most of the work yourself?

I feel sad that your brother went to Rainbow Bridge. I am hoping to go there myself one day because it's such a great place for dogs. But, I know my guardian and all my dog friends will miss me.

Some human philosopher once said that to say hello contains the seeds of saying goodby. Guess that's true.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Love,

Rowan

Winston looks like a pretty cool dude but he sounds like my HIGH ENERGY sissy. She has a white cross on her chest, too! I have a white blobby on mine.

wally.

ps. I can't wait to hear your rescue story. I love a good rescue. And my ma ape will blubber like a baby and give me smoochies so it all works out.

Hi Randi! My dad says that if he ever got a whippet he'd name it, "Goode". Keep that little pup in line!

Hi, Randi. Yes, I think you probably do look like what our puppy Lewis would have looked like grown up.

Your little cuz Winston is a cutie, too! Thanks for checking in on our site. We love yours!

Winston is just lovely! He looks very much like me......we never had any puppy pics of me, 'cos I was adopted when I was 6 months old. So the picture of Winston when he was 3 months made Jeannie think that is probably what I looked like. Thank you!

oh and yes, that's cool to link with me! We love your blog too!

love and licks, Your friend Marvin in Scotland xxxxxx

Sorry to hear about Dublin. It seems that many have gone to the Rainbow Bridge in the last few weeks. At least they have each other. I really like the way you sit like a seal.
